All owners of the big strom herewith somehing to bear in mind, specifically for the older strom pre 05 i think.

The clutch is hydraulic , behind the clutch piston is a cup seal. This cup seal is not well protected at all( a real serious design flaw on an adventure bike i reckon) anyway if you doing a lot of adventure riding on dirt or river crossings etc take time out on the odd occasion to remove the cylinder and clean out all the gunk that inveriably collects there. at the same time remove the the panel behind the gear lever an clean all the gunk out as well.

i do a bit of offroad stuff and clean out the entire area of the bike about 6 months or so. good preventative maintenance.

at the same time you may as well replsce the seal , they run at 37 runt each and i always keep a spare one as sometimes i am moerofa far from home.

cheers
