XC1200
Race Dog
On a rather cold and windy morning in the EC, we set out for our first ride on our new Explorer 1200 starting off at the Rocklands turnoff on the R334 heading towards the Sandrivier Dam and then on to Patensie on the R331. The Explorer rides like a dream and handled the various road conditions with ease. It was a very comfortable ride.
We stopped a few times along the road to take a few pics and to take in the awesome scenery and then we stopped at the Sandrivier Dam.
We then came across a small farm shop that sells fresh homemade cheese and biscuits and ginger beer. Up until that point the road was good, but then suddenly it became very muddy and slippery as hell and the inevitable happened...and we took a tumble. Fortunately the only damage was to my ego....I will definitely need to put some off-road tyres on to give better grip in the mud.
Thereafter the going was a bit slow due to the slippery patches encountered.
