Here is my story. In April this year i had a small accident on my 2013 BMW R1200GS LC it was on a gravel road and the bike literally just flipped over front side and landed on the side. BMW as usual gave a crazy quotation for cosmetic repairs and my insurer chose to have it repaired somewhere else. NOW 3000KM later with only 21000KM done on the bike the timing chain snapped and BMW refuses to repair the bike due to the fact that "it was written off" only because the insurer moved it. As I understand BMW was aware that the first liquid cooled model had a timing chain issue but its now easy to throw blame.
To everyone who owns the same model, take your bike in and have that sorted or sell it a.s.a.p because BMW only delivers excellent service when it comes to purchasing a new bike.
