Helmet hurts

I have not been riding for a few years until recently. Had 2 UVEX helmets, the regular, which I sold when I stopped riding, and the kevlar which I still have. It used to fit without problems, but now it catches me on my forehead and will be unbearable on a fullday trip. Is it possible that the padding lost it's comfort?
I must add that I might have lost hair since last riding, but I cannot be the only balding rider. Any suggestions?
