So............

I reckon this question might be on the minds of quite a few people, but nobody wants to ask it, so I will.

What is the true value of having a peak on your helmet?
What is your opinion from personal experience?
What is the true function of a peak, and does it do the job it's supposed to?

My personal experience/view..........?
I've been riding with my lid (with peak) for a year now, commuting, trips, tar, dirt, you name it.
I like the look of the helmet with the peak, but does that really justify having it?

In windy conditions it can act as a scoop and grab more wind/gusts.
The one/only pro I can think of at present, is that SOMETIMES (by co-incidence) it provides a bit of shade for your eyes/face, but this is all dependent on the time of day and where you are riding, whether this actually helps.

So my question, apart from giving that little bit of shade for your eyes/face every now and again (not often at all), is a peak really beneficial?

On our last trip I experienced this the most, cause by the time we were done riding for the day, my face was tanned like the ginger bread man. :lol8:
It's happened before, but not to this extent.

So ja, I'll be using sun block from now on as well. :lol8:
