So, currently live and work in the UK but have decided to take 6 months out as from Xmas this year.
Done a LOT of touring in Europe (I guess upwards of 100k miles over the last 3 years) so looking for a change of scenery. Loose plan of doing an extended, lazy lap around Southern Africa (SA -> Namibia -> Botswana -> SA) starting early '17.
Most of my miles have been on my R1200RT but done some off-road in the Pyrenees and the Alps on rented/borrowed BMW 800GS and 1200GSA. Nothing overly technical but enough to get grit in my teeth. :biggrin:
Booked my flights and get into CT on 26 Dec. Will be looking to buy a clean, capable, ready-to-go bike soon after that. Budget will be roughly < R90k (depending on exchange rates!).
