I ride a 2002 F650GS. About 3 months ago I notices a odd sound from the exhaust, and identified I had a small hole in the exhaust pipe connecting the 2 boxes. This hole has grown now to the point where it is bothering me, and I am also noticing a change in my fuel consumption.
Can I simple weld the pipe closed where the hole is, or what approach should I follow to fix this?
Here are some pics of it. As you can see, the hole is in the connection, and the gas is blowing out to the left.
