Could anybody give me some tips on how to wire my GPS to my motorbike? It is a Garmin Zumo 660 with a cradle rack that fits on the handlebars. It has a wiring harness with two bare power source wires with an inline fuse, a microphone jack, a headphone jack and a mini USB connector.

1. Do I connect the source wires directly on to the battery? 12V Battery vs 5V GPS?

2. I have an external power plug already fitted on the handle bars that could save me running another wire set back to the battery.

3. Is it better to have the power to the gps connected permanently or should you run it through the ignition switch?

4. Where does one secure the loose hanging jacks?

Much appreciated
