Attention All Adventure Bike Riders:

XT’s, KLR’s, GS’s, KTM Adventures, Pegasso’s etc etc etc.

As you may – or may not know, Family Adventures runs the annual JHB to Durban ride to raise funds for the Quadpara Association. Over the years, we have had various Ladies and Gents come along on their adventure bikes – and just about all of them have mentioned or suggested that we a similar trip just for Adventure bike riders.

Guys this is Adventure bike heaven – and we can add in some fantastic routes where outright dirt bikes are unable to go. Similarly, we can take out a few of the really technical, rocky parts so that you don’t fall off and hurt your bikes.
You will see some of the most beautiful places SA has to offer, places where few “Mlungu’s” have been, spectacular mountain passes, forests, rivers – you name it, the trip really has a bit of everything to offer.

Naturally, there is one heck of a lot of work that needs to go into an event like this, so, before we start, we thought that we would just feel the waters and see whether anyone would be keen on a trip like this.

We would probably run the ride in the winter months so that we avoid the rains which make some of the roads and trails enormously slippery. We would probably run the event over 3 days instead of the four days reserved for the off road ride.

We can arrange all meals and accommodation en route – or if you like, we can arrange camping facilities. Naturally there will be backup vehicles, medics and all sorts along to assist.
The route will be clearly marked – so you can travel at your own pace, relax and enjoy the ride.

Anyway – that’s the gist of it.

If you are keen, please drop us an email so that we can get an idea as to whether this is a viable event to look at.

Regards
