Hi all,
Attempting to revive a KLR650:
Parts/things I already have:
# 2010 KLR 650 - rolling chassis (8000km on the clock) - bought it as per pics
# Picked up a KLR600 engine for Cheap - Mostly for the head - to my knowledge it fitts the 650 (gasket partno also the same etc) - problem, main bearing (roller bearing) next to Crod is worn
# Picked up KLR 650 (2005) engine - Head shot - Piston ate away at the barrel and caused Crank/Big end failure
Now I'm contemplating one of the following options:
# Fit KLR600 Head on the 650 Engine
# Bore out the KLR650 barel (Vulcan 1500 (678cc) piston or 685cc kit)
# 1. Try and recondition 650 crank
2. Try and fit 650 conrod onto 600 crank
Any advice would be much appreciated!
