So when I serviced my bike last weekend (2003 Dakar, 40k service), I noticed there is a pipe which is loose at both ends. One end is close to the side-stand, and the other ends just below the airbox. It's similar to the pipe which is on the airbox which is used to drain it of oil when there is too much blow-back of oil from the crankcase/gearbox. Has anyone else seen this pipe, and what is it for? When I next open up I will take a picture...though I'm not sure that will help! (Must learn to take pics while servicing...)
Another thing: since the service, the bike feels much better but the backfire on downshift with zero acceleration is now almost 'on demand', much more frequent. Should I be worried?
Any ideas?
