Hi, all WDs.

I would like to introduce myself before I start
treading on toes whilst using the forum. First, I have a couple of
confessions to make (I know this going to get me into trouble,
but I like living dangerously):
1. I am 63magic's father.
2. I never admit to being wrong - why should I, I'm always right.
3. I've been skulking in the undergrowth for quite a few months,
in spite of having joined in Feb.

In spite of my longwinded intro, I'm not given to talking a lot, so
don't expect me to carry on in this vein on the forum in future.
Although this is the first time I've been on this forum (or any other),
I'm not exactly new to bikes. My first MC was a James Cadet
(1955, 150 cc) - my first and last two stroke.
This was followed by a Honda Benly (1961, 125 cc), and thereafter
a succession of Hondas until 19865, a CB1100RC (1984 model). It
broke my heart to sell that bike (1995); in fact there were
only two bikes I sold that I didn't reget selling: the James
and a Benly 125 cc (the second one, which had a habit of spitting
out the left spark plug).

63m got me started after a 14 year abstention by "lending" me her
F650GS. I got so the hell in when she sold it out from under my
arse, that I bought an XL500S (the same as one I bought new in
1980). It's still work in progress, until it's working to my
satisfaction. In the meantime, in the springtime, I ride GundaGunda's
KLE500 - which I plan to sell  - soon. This is the same bike I rode
when 63m and I did our fabulous trip to the Cape in December
(see her RR). Many thanks to all the WDs who helped out -
wear and tear problems only, the KLE was rock solid and never
missed a beat. Handling in dirt was exemplary, in spite of the
front tyre's early demise. (63m got worried when it started
showing canvas, in spite of my telling her that knobblies have
at least four layers and that one layer showing is nothing to
fret about). Anyway, it now has two new Anakees.

I enjoy being an inmate and the trips we've been on.
Rooikat.
