Sena SMH10 Installation Help Required

Hi guys, I just got a SMH10 comms system. I installed it in my BMW Enduro helmet but the sound is very soft. Is there any one that installed one in the same helmet that can give me some advise? Should the speakers go under the helmet padding or on top of the helmet padding? Any help would be appreciated.
