My 990 needs new steering head bearings. I have purchased the Timken bearings and after watching some youtube videos am wondering whether I should tackle it myself? I service my bakkie etc and am quite handy. Have tools. Seems like quite a mission of a job. Is it worth getting it done by the "professionals" or are there a few hidden niggly bits I might have missed? Would the experience be worth the effort? And knowing it has been done right.
Hard question considering you don't know my skill level. I guess what I am asking is, "have any of you attempted it? and were there some surprises you could have done with a warning about?"
Have at it.
Thanks
Dave
