Not so sure about this 800 thing, iv ridden XT,s for a million years and have never taken a engine cover of of one of them. Iv got two at the moment and they both have 65k on the clock. I broke down on my new 2nd hand GS800 last weekend and this is what I found and after lotsa research this is just one of the many issues these bikes have. Please tell me I havnt made a mistake buying this bike. It has 65 k on the clock as well?
