I have started looking for a tyre for the rear on my F650GS twin I am in no big hurry and I know what I want, what makes me wonder is why the correct size tyre 140/80-17 in general is about R200 more expensive than the tyre for the R1200GS that uses a 150/70-17.

Now the bike I bought is fitted with the 1200gs tyre and I suspect the reason for this is the R200 price differance. As far as car tyres goes I am well informed as to wich sizes can substitude wich, but on bike tyres I am a bit cluless.

My 2 questions are.

Can I fit the  150/70-17 to my F650GS twin with no problems? (the current one seems fine)
Why the hell is the tyre for the smaller bike more expensive (aprox 17%) than the one for the big bike (a wider tyre with a lower profile) it does not make sense
