I have recently fitted a new tire and it is leaking badly between bead and rim - I have to pump up daily as it drops from 2.9 to about .5 in 24 hours. The word from the guys who fitted the tire seems to be going in the direction that it is my rim. Prior to this I had no issues except with a tubed tire run tubeless, this is now the replacement tire.
Questions:
If the rim has not been dinged what could make it start leaking?
Is there anything like a special coating on the rim that helps them seal that could wear off?
What can one do, if anything, to remain tubeless but solve the seal issue?
I am a bit cautious about slime/goo as I have heard that it can damage aluminum rims.
Any advice appreciated as a simple change of tire has turned into a bit of a nightmare for me.
