So how do I value my bike to my insurer?
Shopping around, I have heard book value is R33200. 2001 R1150gs with 57k on the clock.
Now looking online, you will not find one in great nick with that mileage for anywhere close to book, they seem to trade a fair amount above.
So now, do I over insure and risk getting paid out less in the event of a total loss / or claim, or try get a value from a dealer (who knows?) saying the bike is worth xyz (more than book). (in my opinion, book means little the older vehicles get)
My insurer is happy if I get a valuation from a dealer, but has said that I would need a new valuation yearly.
