This is something I struggled with this weekend. Being a bit of a noob, I only took a patch kit with and no spare tubes on what was planned to be an epic trip. We did maybe 40m of deep sand, but it was on a tar section shortly after where my back wheel suddenly deflated quickly. I took out the tube and found the valve was completely ripped off the tube  :dousing: I tried glueing the valve back and patching over it, but needless to say the weekend didn't work out quite the way we planned. We also discovered we have no idea how to put the wheel back on the rim  ???

What bugs me is that it was also a brand new tube that I put in last week.

Is this something that happens often or is it one of those "once in a blue moon" situations? I'm now seriously considering putting in a rim lock to stop it from happening again or just a tubeless system. Any suggestions?
