Hi All. I am doing a trip with some mates at the end of this month. Now I am not querying the planning of our planner but more interested in what I am getting myself into. There are two days in particular that I am not sure about.
The first day of interest is from Klein Pella to Vioolsdrift through the Namakwa (or Pella) 4x4 route. See below:
Firstly, has anyone done this route on a DS bike and secondly is it reasonable to think that this can be done in a day (noting that it is planned to still ride through to Hondeklip Baai for our overnight stop? What is the route like, being a 4x4 route this can mean anything. Is there lots of sand, very rocky roads, etc.
The second day is from Hondeklip Baai to Doring Bay. See below:
Same story here. Is it doable in a day, how much sand is there, etc.
One last question; when riding in sand, how much does your fuel consumption go up?
