I'm thinking of taking my F650 and doing some of the offroad courses the countrytrax guys offer, with the idea of going on a trip to Namibia later this year. I just wanted to hear some opinions and advice on what I need on my bike.
It's pretty much a stock F650GS single (the sissy version, not the Dakkie).
I've already made the mistake of puncturing my radiator while mucking about in mud. So I guess some sort of radiator guard is probably in order.
It's obviously got the 19" front wheel and I know some people think that's no good, but I don't intend on doing sand.. It's got Anakee 2 tires - I nearly saw my arse with those in some mud, but they seem ok on normal dirt roads. I guess I'll need knobblies? Can I do countrytrax the Anakees?
I'm not sure what the idea is behind the crashbars on the F650 single, most of them only seem to go around the engine very low down, or maybe I'm missing something. What are they protecting?
