Who has swapped their cast wheels for spoke wheels?

Has anyone here swapped their cast wheel set for a spoke wheel set on their bike?

I would like to know if it is a straight fit, or will the bile require additional work to be done?

Say for instance you have a 1090S can you buy and fit a 1090R wheel set without any modifications?
