For those that don't know, I had an incident last Thursday. A bird made a u-turn right in front of me. I t-boned her and got off it relatively easy (I could walk away from the scene although in a lot of pain)
Thing is, I just received the quote from BM for the repairs. R82k!!!
I almost moer of my chair. Apart from a few cosmetics and a damaged oil cooler, front light and handle bar, the rest didn't seem that bad. Now, Im not complaining. I want the bike in it’s original condition and I will claim it back from the bird’s insurance. R82k just doesn’t make sense for the amount of damage. It almost seems as if you drop the bike it is a write off.
My question. What is the retail value of a ’07 1200GS? Will they want to write it off or will they repair? At the cost of a new one I would prefer the repair as it was still in perfect condition before the accident… ??? ???
