XR650L pumper carb

Hi everybody,

                    two, no lets make it three questions.

      On my xr650l I have the following mods;
          1] FMF Q pipe.
          2] Desnorkeled and foam filter.
          3] Kei Hin 41mm pumper carb'

          Quest 1; Apparently the 39mm carb is better. A guy told me you can machine a insert
from teflon to size my carb down. How? Please advise.

        Quest 2; After running slow and hot the bike dont want to start.

        Quest 3; If the first sentence in question 1 is correct do anybody want to swap for a 39mm?
