Hit a drunk hobo in Hilbrow back in the '80s with my Z750 Kawa. Damaged my shoulder and lost a shoe. Still rode the bike home with the headlight shining up in the trees.

Thats the reason why I read the mag in the shop. You have to flip through it anyway to see whats inside 'cause the cover is misleading. So why buy it

Bikes have changed a lot in 20 years. A modern GS is a hell of a lot easier and more forgiving than the old bikes. Take one for a long test ride.

Drove between Piet Retief & Pongola on 27 Dec. The road was the best Ive seen it it years but still not a road for speeding. Goats, donkeys & taxis and still some potholes etc

Go and do the canopy tour at Magoebaskloof. it is more spectacular than Magalies...and a good weekend ride!

If you're not taking bikes Merry Pebbles is really nice. Ablutions are spotless and facilities are good. They had a few bad experiences years back with Paradise Rally dudes smashing up the place etc, hence no bikes allowed.

Lat time I was there it was OK. Ablutions were a bid dodgy but the setting is great. The mountain bikers use this place a lot. If you can't get place there try Mac Mac forest retreat (think that's the correct name) just past Mac Mac falls on route to Graskop. Enjoy!
