die Hel, road condition at the moment???

I did the Hell on 15 March. It was a first for me and an awesome experience. Will defenitely do it again. The road condition is fair, however the first stretch of about 10km is really bad corrugation and stoney. I kept on telling myself when I finish this trip I have to go through every bolt and...

    Dakar spark plug holder puller

Is this tool the only way to pull the sparkplug holder or is there other means and ways to do this. I am going soon on a road trip and dont want to be stranded if I have to change a sparkplug on the road. Anyone got a pic of what this tool look like?

Pre-Load Adjuster on Dakar is STUCK!!!!

In my attempt trying to get the correct ride height the pre-load adjuster got stuck in the high position. It was working fine before. What happened....I removed the dogbone links and I do believe this has something to do with the adjuster. The bike was placed on the centre stand and the links...

    Lowering a Dakar

I tend to agree with what you are saying Lecap. I cant see lowering the rear 50mm and only lower the front 25mm. That is the only available distance the fork tubes can slide up the tripple. If it was 25mm rear then it would be ok. On the F650 FAQ mention is made of adding extra oil to the front...

    Lowering a Dakar

I have finally decided to fit a lowering kit to my Dakar. The F650 FAQ section was a great source of information but still leaves me in a cofused state of mind. It would appear some only fitted the lowering links with an adjustment to the front forks. Please excuse my ignorance if I have this...

Hi everyone, I'm a newby from King William's Town

Thanks Brenny. I absolutely adore this bike. Very comfortable ride even with all settings at its lowest. Light to handle and very quiet. Brakes are good. This Dakar is realy growing on me. Had a nice 265km ride this past weekend with a friend and enjoyed it. About 80km of the stretch was dirt...
