Those fins are really very fragile. The mesh wont really stop a big rock from a bike ahead of you but will reduce progressive damage from all the smaller stuff your front wheel kicks up.

Thanks for the responses.  I thought the oil seal may be an industry standard.  If the seal is that cheap I'l buy one and fit next time I feel like bonding with my bike.

When I did my Doo I had to take off the clutch cover to fish for the missing doo-spring bits.  Since then I've been having some drops of coolant out the tell-tale hole under the waterpump. Getting slowly worse. I opened the waterpump yesterday and checked the rotary seal under the impeller. ...

Hi Mamba.  I've been away visiting your Fugly in Cape Town.  It rides the Table Mountain trails with my son who is a volunteer firefighter and has access for patrols and such.  Had one biggish "off" but luckily into thick fynbos.  Minor scratches. Ride safe
