    What Adventure/MX boots to buy?

Guys, I'm sure that this has been covered before, but a quick search didn't turn anything up, so I'm asking again. My MX boots, which I use for touring and playing on my plastics, have seen better days and are getting to the point where I need to replace them. I'd appreciate recommendations...

    Brodes (temporarily) down

On the way home Friday I had an unplanned dismount. No other vehicles or persons involved so nobody to blame but myself. There's no pill for stupid! I live in Midrand and so, often on the way home, I'll try to ride a short stretch of dirt, just for the shits and giggles. On Friday, the R101 was...

Spares for Montesa Cota 315r - where to get locally?

Does anybody know where I can get spares locally for a 2001 Montesa Cota 315r. I'm looking for the normal servicing type spares ie brake pads, air filter, levers, sprockets, fork seals, etc. - not looking to overhaul the motor. Tried contacting Honda cayenne, but just a deathly silence so far.

Gave the girls a little TLC today

Spent some quality time with my bikes today. Gave them a good wash – cleaned filters, checked oil levels, checked tyre pressures, etc. nothing serious, but had a few relaxing hours – all good for the soul. Garage is coming along nicely – just need a S1000R or Daytona 675R and it’ll be complete.

    BMW S1000R first impressions

So I rode the BMW S1000R today. I've had my heart set on the S1000R since it was announced. I'd previously ridden the S1000RR (about two years ago), but found it too focussed for my likes and needs. Make no bones about it, the S1000RR is a fantastic piece of German engineering, but not a...

So how many days have you spent in the saddle this year?

So far this year I have managed 13 days riding. Here a day counts as more than 8 hours adventure riding (including stops for fuel and to eat) , but not including Sunday breakfast runs for a few hours, which don't count, although I also do these as often as I can.The rides have included the...

Got my new sleeping bag - rated to -40 deg!

Ordered a US army surplus Military Sleeping System (MSS) from the states, and it arrived today after a long time getting here (Amazon won't ship it to the RSA). Supposed to be rated to -40 degrees (will never see close to those temperatures here, but I shouldn't get cold, even in the worst...

    Sealing a petrol tank

I've just fitted a new Acerbis tank to my Suzuki DR650. The problem is that the tank is leaking around the outlet  fuel suuply tap. The fuel supply tap came supplied with an O-ring seal (which appears to me to be a little small) which is fitted, but is clearly not working. I'm hesitant to use a...
