We are about to embark on a project to rebuild a 1980 XT 500 G.
Started the strip down this weekend and have noticed a couple of things that will need replacing.
Handle bar control on the Clutch side is cracked and needs replacing.
Mirrors, but think i can get from Yamaha, Chrome with Plastic (Round).
Left hand side Headlight bracket. (Left and right are the same).
All the rubbers going over cables etc are perished (anyone know where i can get a full set of these).
Would like an original exhaust, tail end, as have the original header but these are scarce (Presently has a Super Trap which is rescuable).
Clutch lever, (suspect this we can get from Yamaha)
Full set of cables, (bike stood for 15 years and suspect when we pull the cables they are going to be corroded).
If anyone has the above parts available please let me know.
