Do not trust the manual for this. 21nm max, I have made some damage with 23nm.

Been there, even with recommended 23nm factory bolts changed their shape. New bolts and little bit lower torque

What if we put silicone grease on new rubber? This tip is from other  forum. Longer life?

Adjust idle, 1400-1500rpm. It might be just that. At least for my xt660r.
