How do you make a teenager's day, and get a warm fuzzy feeling at the same time?
Simple!!!
One of my son's friens crashed his 125 in to the back of a truck a few months back, he was not insured
and did not have the means or knowledge to repair the bike himself, so I volunteerd to help out with a
cheap rebuild.
Three weeks ago I collected a destroyed, bent, wreck of a bike from him, and after working evenings
and weekends I managed to hand the bike back last night.
The rebuild included straightening the frame, panel beating and spraying the tank, plastics and rims, repairing
electrical damage, fitting brakes, tyres, bearings plus straightening and rebuilding the suspension, footrests and
top yoke, and repairing mechanical damage that only a teenager can do given the wrong tools. All on a R2500-00 budget!!
Last night was a big occasion for young Jamie as he rode his bike home at about 10h30 (Escorted by yours truly)
I can only say what a pleasure to help this youngster out, I hope he has many happy miles on his bike.
Big up to Beemerman for all the help with the aluminium welding and the forks
