The Girlfriend and I recently decided to get into the dual-sport scene. I ran off and got myself a BMW 650 Dakar, but we are struggling to select a good starter bike for her. She has never ridden a motorbike before and is relatively short (1.65m / 5ft4"). I dont want anything big that will scare her off the sport, but it must be big enough to keep up with the traffic and it must be easy to ride. It should also be cheap since it is likely to be dropped once or twice and sold after a year or so for an upgrade. (Planning on upgrading to a 650GS with lowered seat, but that is too much of a leap for right now).
Was considering the following, but not sure if it will be able to keep up with traffic:
TW200 (My top choice)
DR250
XR125 / XTZ 125 / NXR125 & similar 125's (Probably too slow?)
XT 200
Also electric start would be a major plus!
Any of the cheap Chinese brands that I should be considering?
